Bio

Charleyne Boyer began her artistic training at the Fine Arts School of Rennes (France),
where she obtained the National Diploma of Fine Arts in 2010. It will then study eight
months at the School of Fine Arts Athens (Greece) before joining the university Rennes 2
(France) where she obtained her Master degree in Plastic Arts. The artist currently
studying for a doctorate with a research that the topic: "Arts and sciences: theory and
practice, between potential and total fiction. "
In 2012 she created with other artists from Rennes, the mobile home colectif.

Statement

Her artistic practice is based on scientific iconography. She works from scientific images
found on the internet or performed in laboratories with the help of scientists. Initially
fascinated by these pictures , it looks their meaning and scientific input . Scientific
illustrations are evidence , witnesses or examples for the researcher. It is therefore about
the scientific quality of the image before working with .
Her practice is a work of moving image , she re- appropriates the re- drawing in ink ,
watercolor or sometimes through a ceramic work . The type of image on which it is based
mainly on the order of microscopic / cellular imaging . A second focus of his work is
inspired by images of beings called " relics" which have hardly evolved over the centuries .
This is usually crustaceans, plankton, insects and some plants. These are generally what
is considered harmful : insects, weeds.
