Donald Cameron

Bio

Donald Cameron received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and lives and works in Bushwick, Brooklyn. He has exhibited in the Museum of New Art, Pontiac, Carriage Trade, New York, MeiPAM gallery in Shoudoshima Japan and the Department of Art, Art History and Design at the University of Notre Dame. His work is represented by Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago.

Statement

Cameron’s paintings are explorations into systems of color, and the way that they can combine into larger atmospheric impressions. This work is an oil painting layered on top of giclee printing on canvas. The color and textures resulting from mixed media have an enigmatic light and movement within a cloudy, ambiguous space.
